The littlest hands on the farm

Adair really did pick cherries all by herself, making the fresh-off-the-tree taste she had even sweeter. She had some help getting up there in the branches, but when it comes to grabbing and pulling, we all know Adair needs no assistance. (editorial from Shashlyk). It was just abut the cutest thing ever. I can't imagine a more picturesque day.

Cherry Picking...

Otherwise known as picking out the best of the best. Cherry picking was the best, like something out of a storybook, complete with a train and the little old man who drove it. Beautiful farmland. The best dressed baby. The best cherries I've ever had. The best dump cake ever.

The trip began Wednesday when the travelers arrived. First we did some local sightseeing and visiting with Brittany and Peter (below, that evening, Brittany experiences the finicky palate of a 9 month old). On our first morning there, we were off to the local orchard for cherry picking. Adair, anticipating the loving gazes she would get from the crowds of admirers, practiced her posing before we headed out. The cherries and cuteness awaits!

A Day Off

I took the day off today to visit with Bridget, Dee Dee, Harrison, Max and Betsy. The boys were busy outside (who knew cut down trees could be so captivating) when these photos were taken. Betsy and Bridget debated the rules of sharing while Lila looked on... Meanwhile Adair chose this moment to demonstrate a new move. Look at the legs on this girl. PS- Locks went on the cabinets today. Amazing what happens in a day off.

Start of Summer

Summer is officially here- Josh's birthday signals the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer months.

Adair models her hershey kiss jams, breaking them in for her big summer vacation to Baltimore (from Aunt Brittany and Uncle Peter). It looks like she finds something ironic here. doesn't it?

Enjoys reading and eating....

New hobbies, as of 8.5 months, include reading (current favorite read, I love my Daddy) and eating those impossibly messy cookies that take total concentration for full appreciation. Adair gives them their due respect.

Adair is so lucky to have such fun cousins. Ella, always ready with a kiss, shares her affection. Mollie not only starred in but also directed this shot herself. And Adair and Lila are now big fans of indoor boating- all you need is a laundry basket, a sheet, and an Aunt Blakely willing to drag you around. (Next time we're putting swiffer pads on the bottom of the boat).
